Volkswagen plans to add a fourth practical compact crossover called the T-Roc, slotting below the Tiguan.
From the teaser video it wears the same gold/yellow paint as the Beetle Dune and has the traditional four doors of a crossover. It is likely the drivetrain will be a version of VW’s ubiquitous 2.0-litre inline-four, shackled to an automatic transmission.
Included is the “floating C-pillar” design as commonly on many cars today. The teaser shows copious amounts of black plastic cladding along the rocker panels from a shot of the wheels, and LED illuminated faux brake cooling ducts. VW claims the T-Roc has “crisp proportions, a progressive design and a wealth of innovations.”

The T-Roc will debut officially on August 23.
